Engineering Practice Support

The Engineering Practice Support section provides processes, resources and procedure information for everyday engineering activities.

Practice Notes have been developed as a source of advice to practising engineers on practice-related issues.
Contract Documents encourages Members to follow a recognised professional practice in communicating with clients on commercial matters.

IPENZ Practice Reviews: a collection of past practice review projects.
Useful Links provides sites of possible interest to engineers and those with an interest in engineering.
Technical Groups provide programmes of activities and services associated with a particular engineering specialty or discipline.

IPENZ has an Engineering Practice Board whose functions are to:

  • oversee the technical leadership role of IPENZ in the context of IPENZ acting as the hub of the self regulating engineering profession.
  • identity and monitor engineering practice issues and risks affecting or potentially affecting the profession, it's clients and the public at large.
  • monitor the engineering practice, engineering knowledge and disciplinary programmes of work managed or co-ordinated through National Office to ensure that the most important issues and risks are addresses in a timely and professional manner.
  • convene an annual consultative Engineering Practice Forum, invloving stakeholders from other membership-based engineering organisations with interests in engineering practice.
