Engineering Practice Support

The Engineering Practice Support section provides processes, resources and procedure information for everyday engineering activities.

• Practice Notes have been developed as a source of advice to practising engineers on practice-related issues.
• Contract Documents encourages Members to follow a recognised professional practice in communicating with clients on commercial matters.
• The IPENZ Library leads to our specialist collection of technical material which is stored in the Energy Library.
• IPENZ Practice Reviews: a collection of past practice review projects.
• Useful Links provides sites of possible interest to engineers and those with an interest in engineering.
• Technical Groups provide programmes of activities and services associated with a particular engineering specialty or discipline.
• Complaining about an engineer provides advice and information on complaining about an engineer

IPENZ has an Engineering Practice Board whose functions are to:

• oversee the technical leadership role of IPENZ in the context of IPENZ acting as the hub of the self regulating engineering profession.
• identity and monitor engineering practice issues and risks affecting or potentially affecting the profession, it's clients and the public at large.
• monitor the engineering practice, engineering knowledge and disciplinary programmes of work managed or co-ordinated through National Office to ensure that the most important issues and risks are addresses in a timely and professional manner.
• convene an annual consultative Engineering Practice Forum, invloving stakeholders from other membership-based engineering organisations with interests in engineering practice.
